I am a qualified counsellor with thousands of hours of client experience and am a member of the ‘British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy’ (BACP). In addition to maintaining a busy private practice I am a counsellor in the NHS, where I work with patients who bring a broad range of issues to therapy.
Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked in education and in industry, and have served as a trustee of Sheffield Theatres, Sheffield Media and Exhibition Centre (home to Showroom Cinema), and Sheffield UTC Academy. This experience has given me special insight into the difficulties and pressure that people who work in intense decision-making and leadership roles have to deal with.
In addition to my experience as a trustee for two major arts organisations, my background in the creative arts means that I have an understanding of the challenges faced by both creatives and those working in support roles in the creative industries.
